You can totally "do school" without going to school. Here are 5 ways in which you can do that.

Do we really have to “do school” or “go to school”? What does that mean anyway? With homeschooling on the increase, more and more families are realizing that there is a different way of educating their children. With many different styles of homeschooling you can choose what is best for you. Some might like a more school-like structure at home, but others want more freedom and flexibility. The great news is that you can do school without going to school.

WHAT ARE THE OPTIONS?

1. Embrace child-led learning:

Allow your child to explore their interests and passions freely. Encourage their curiosity and provide opportunities for them to explore and discover new things. Surround your child with books, educational materials, art supplies, and resources that align with their interests. Provide tools and resources that facilitate self-directed learning and encourage them to pursue their interests independently. Follow their lead and support their learning journey.

2. Online learning:

With the advancement of technology, there are now numerous online platforms and virtual schools that offer accredited courses and full curricula for students of all ages. These platforms provide interactive lessons, assignments, and assessments that can be accessed from anywhere with an internet connection.

3. Encourage real-life experiences:

Unschooling provides ample opportunities for learning through real-life experiences. Encourage your child to engage in hands-on activities, visit museums, attend workshops or classes, volunteer, or connect with mentors in fields of interest. These experiences provide valuable learning opportunities and help cultivate a love for lifelong learning.

4. Tutoring or mentoring:

You can seek out private tutors or mentors who can provide one-on-one instruction in specific subjects. Online tutoring platforms make it easy to find qualified tutors who can assist you in grasping difficult concepts, guide your learning, and provide feedback on your progress.

5. Foster a supportive learning community:

Seek out or create a community of like-minded families. This allows for collaboration, shared experiences, and opportunities for group activities or educational projects. It also provides support for both you and your child on your learning path.

By supporting your child’s natural curiosity and interests. You have freedom and flexibility in the learning journey. You can totally do “school” without going to school.

But remember that you need to know your state’s requirements and regulations regarding homeschooling.
