Christmas is here! And it might be a little stressful to buy something for the grandparents in your life.

Buying Christmas gifts for grandparents can be tricky. Or is that just me? We have the added challenge in that the grandparents live in 3 different countries and international postage is a killer. We do try to utilize stores (like Amazon) in the respective countries but there are times when something handmade by the grandchildren is a winner!

My girls love making gifts for friends and it is always their desire to make some for their grandparents. Sadly, a lot of what they want to make are not going to make it through the postal system. This causes some tears, but they are now at an age where they do understand. We have managed to make some small things to send.

There are times we have been able to have something made that is personalized that is not too heavy, or is made in their respective countries.

Here are some fun gift ideas that we have done:

  • Photo blanket (of their favorite twins!)
  • Tie Dyed Shirts
  • A collection of photos to hang
  • Canvas prints

What if you don’t live close by and postage is ridiculous (which it is)

  • Subscriptions to magazines, wine or cheese (or whatever they enjoy)
  • Gift cards
  • Family Album Apps (where you can send photos to their device/frame)
  • a device like Portal, so you can communicate easily

Do you want something personal?

If you love personalized Christmas gifts for grandparents and need some ideas, Etsy is a great place to go. My friend has an Etsy store where you can buy downloadable gifts that you finish off at home. They are super cute and she has them for all occasions, not just Christmas. There are so many places I could recommend. I am just choosing her as an example of something that is fun, meaningful, cute and easy to complete. Check out Mama Don’t Blink

I think that grandparents are important. Here is a blog about it.

I wish you a wonderful Christmas season.

  • I have read your article carefully and I agree with you very much. This has provided a great help for my thesis writing, and I will seriously improve it. However, I don’t know much about a certain place. Can you help me?
